Hi, I’m Kerren. I was born in Melbourne Florida and raised in Woodstock, Georgia. I’ve always had an artist eye since I was little and have worked with several different art mediums over the years but never thought of doing anything with clay until the pandemic…

In May of 2020, one of my co-workers came in with some clay earrings and that’s when I got the idea to try and make clay earrings myself. I started using a cheap clay starter kit, watched a few tutorials on YouTube, and got started. Within two months, I had sold over $500 worth of earrings to my friends and decided to open my Etsy shop. Thus, Independent Clay was born.

After a year of being on Etsy, I realized it was not doing everything I wanted it to do, so I decided to rebrand and move away from Etsy to start my own website and put my business out there more. This process took a little over a year to perfect but here I am and I couldn’t have done it without all of the support from everyone. Thank you.
